Should we be thinking about gun tragedies in terms of our own statistical chances ONLY? Or is there a broader concern in this nation of 330 million people, where reducing the frequency and the deadliness of gun violence may not impact our lives directly, but would impact the lives of tens of thousands of our fellow citizens who would be spared life-shattering tragedy. Its the law of probability. In a world where the next victim probably wont be you, can you be brought to care enough about this issue to stand up to powerful lobbiests and fanatical activists who want no new laws and no enforcement of the laws we have? Are we are all in this together? Or, have we become the nation where we question the citizenship of the president, and/or petition to renounce our own, just because we dont like the outcome of a peaceful and democratic election?
